Almost certain...

...the next round of layoffs is coming soon and it won't be pretty. Based on the share price and the outlook for 2013 I would guess 300+ employees will be let go.

Yes, the next round of layoffs is here. I worked for them as a Temp until Friday, that's when I got the ax. From my understanding, Alere lost the United Healthcare Account in their Maternity Div, this was probably 50% of their revenue for that Div. They layed off an entire floor of people including nurses.

Another layoff on the horizon

Another layoff is coming.

With the loss of the Humana business (their largest client) I am sure another one is coming. I would guess the end of this week or the end of November.... However employees I speak to at the company say they were told it was happening early next year.... The next one will be big though probably 200+ employees... I think mostly clinicians and support staff for Humana....

The employee moral is usually low.

As a fresher, you would not get much exposure. most of the things already in place, so not enough challenge to figure out your potential. There is a meritocracy built into the unionized system. It's in the DNA of this organization.

FYI, go somewhere else. They are planning another round of massive lay offs. This company is going bust. Get out why you can!

it is true. Alere is going bust!. They are letting people go 1 at a time. Hope you don't have stock in this felling apart company
