In April my son's $1 phone died. I went to the store thinking I would extend his contract and mine while also adding a line for my daughter. Apparently it was too early to extend my contract (I wasn't asking to end the current contract and restart the two year - I wanted to add two years to my current contract). The only options offered to me were to buy a phone for $200 or pay out his contract and add a line for him which would cost $250. After much fussing I was allowed to buy a refurbished phone for $25. It only worked on speaker and the charger didn't work but this was a favor to me, a loyal 14 year customer. When we got the phone they hooked it up incorrectly which resulted in a charge of $150 that they eventually refunded to me.

I've been eagerly awaiting the end of my Alltel contract since that month of hassle followed by numerous billing mistakes. I got a new phone for Christmas so on December 28th, the day my contract ended, I call Alltel to cancel my contract. I asked how much my final ever bill would be. I was told the billing period ends in mid-January and Alltel doesn't prorate. Why wouldn't the billing dates be in some way related to my contract date? Why are they under the delusion I will be apying them for days when I am not under contract and not receiving any services? Why don't they realize they drove away a customer with stupid policies aimed at harming their customers?

The good news is my family now has three phones that include unlimited talk, text, and data for $20 more a month than with two phone from Alltel that only had talk and text. I also don't have a contract!

i hate alltel. I have been a customer for 10 years and they just get worse and worse. I have put up with them because we have decent coverage in my rural area, but no more! I spend almost $200/month for 5 lines of service and you would think they would value a customer who has never been late on a payment, but they obviously don't. Someone, no one know who, changed my account and took off a measly $3.00 discount off one of my lines without telling me, of course customer service has no idea who and can't put it back on. How ridiculous to lose a $200.00/month customer over $3.00 but that is what is going to happen. Customer service person was rude, supervisor was rude too! I just wanted the discount i have always had and no one can help, nor can they escalate the call to someone higher. I HATE dealing with them. Luckily my contract is up up in two months, i will take my $200.00/month elsewhere!!!!

model ec168 does not work at all. I get about 2.5 kbs witch is way less than dial up. i went tru 4 - 5 hours with some tech who was polite but nothing worked. so in affect I used my time, my resources to help them fix THEIR product to no avail. I am fed up so i canceled my contract and will pay the 200 bucks to get out of a crappy contract. AND I WILL LET EVERYONE I CAN WHAT I THINK OF ALLTELL/AT&T

They are money hungry blood suckers. They charge you for mobile to mobile when its suppose to be free..Lies Lies and more Lies!! Get ready to empty your pockets, they will sure be there pulling on them.

I have had the unlimited Alltel wireles data plan for almost 3 years, had problems with speed from day 1 but lived with it. I have an external antenna mounted outside for the usb modem. I have been on the phone with them about service outages. Today i find out the are dropping my modem due to it roaming to much. But they couldn't tell me where it was roaming since they have the closest tower. Now i have 2 weeks to find another service provider. Sounds to me that they are trying to weed out the unlimited wireless accounts of people that use their service.
