I was laid off from Autoliv about a little over two years ago and still miss it very much. The people were fantastic and much like family especially for one Big Guy in the Goleta, CA offices who is quite the all around professional/fun guy. They did not make getting laid off hurt as much as some companies can make it hard to take but like they truly would miss you but clearly make it feel like the money just had to be used in other ways for the good of the facility's bottom line. Being a bottom line person myself it was very understandable and even felt, yes, still willing to help the company as best as I could. Hope one day they will remember and call me back. I miss those guys and gals a lot. I give it a 4 1/2 stars for great companies to work for around this community and I have worked for quite a few all over the country. Mrs. R.

I have been working for Autoliv for just over 10 years now. The main problem that I have isn't with the pay, or our benefits it's about our management. It would be great if they would just LISTEN to the employees once in a while.....we want a job just as much as they do. We have the APS suggestions which can work if they would only take the time to read them. I have been at my facility since it opened. There is only 1 manager that has been there as long as me. Who do you think would know the job better????????????

Good place to work

about
I am happy with my immediate management. Good compensation and benefit package. Pay is mostly same for within industry but can differ if out of the area. Autoliv is also generally very good at accommodating telecommuters, flexible work-schedules, etc. There are few downsides here like extremely political environment, limited growth opportunities, and little interest in developing employees, lack of infrastructure. The main issue is that there is no strategic career path here.

Best company in automotive

I've been at Autoliv (in North America) for 10 years. This is truly an amazing company. I have been able to learn, grow, be challenged and succeed in ways many people cannot. Autoliv is an employee centered company that uses the Autoliv Production System to save lives and make a difference. Autoliv designs, builds, and sells automotive safety systems (seatbelts and airbags).

It's hard to be motivated to do a good job when there are hundreds of skilled trade workers complaining about issues with the management. I have recently experienced that the more you do, the more you are given to do, that too with no appreciation. We are made to realize that ‘to work is what we are paid for’. The thing which I hate is their employee replacement policy; this discourages even those who really want to work with dedication. There is no job security here and lay-offs are very common. This is not a good place for a professional guy with talent.
