Corrupt Organization

about
My previous manager, Doug Speight, Truck Liability manager is very corrupt. he lies, fabricates information and has no ethics at all. he will lie to your face when he knows, he can't back anything he says.
Dougs been fired from other jobs in the past for lying on applications and acting unethically.
His mere exsistence is questionable. He will railroad people if he feels the y know more than he does (pretty much everybody knows more than him). ABG is a dump!

I don't understand why none union workers are still working while many union workers are still laid off! Also i believe that avis and budget merging is going to be a total disaster.

Good Boss

about
Promotions from inside are common, if you get in a good department, you may have a good boss. A somewhat flexible work schedule gives us the chance to be able to grow your business; however it comes with some reigns attached. The exposure to customer service situations will prepare you for any interaction with the public at any time in your career. It is a pleasant work place with mostly retired people.

Toronto Layoffs

about
I've been with Avis... then Cendant... now Avis Budget Group for 6 years now... I thought that I'd be here until I retire, then I'd become a Shuttler! Now I don't know if I'll be completing my 7th year here... It use to be so much fun working for "Avis", then once we took over Budget Toronto operations (it was a licencee prior), things seemed to go down hill... We use to do fund raising, rental give aways for the summer, 50 50 draws, and Christmas partys... All that is now GONE! All this rebranding, how much money was blown on that I wonder???

It really BLOWS BIG TIME coming back to the office in the afternoon and finding the entire Payroll Department gone, one of the guys in Distribution, and a Manager... I also heard some others were laidoff at the other office... I know that I'll be looking for another job before I get the axe... Did I mention that this BLOWS BIG TIME?!?

Avis layoffs

about
Avis Budget is one of the largest rental companies in US. Despite its size and huge brand, it’s no more the same company that I joined 7 years ago. People are treated badly and there is no security for your job too. Recently, company announced 113 layoffs to take place by April 3. The company hasn’t announced anything about the benefits or severance package for terminated people, but rumor is that since the times are bad – packages will be lower than 2 weeks for each year worked.
