There is an Old Boys Club mentality

Little to no opportunity for promotion as too many people are ahead of you and are going no where fast. Communication from top down can be non existent.

Bullying is accepted in management

about
Workforce is very disconnected from management. The facilities are filthy. Inflexible and hard to stand out from the crowd.

There are a lot of areas that you can enhance your knowledge in which can help you in the future. Young engineers get exposed to as many things that they can handle inside the company.

BAE systems down hill

about
After over 30 years was transferred to lower paying position because management believes older employees are too expensive. My job was given to a new hire and I was given bad performance review after every other review was great. Was let go because of this and they cheated some of us out of our medical insurance.

Bust your butt, work out of town for months, be part of the design team of the only thing that sells there, but it doesn't matter. What matters is you're part of the good ole boy network. Hello Austin!

BAE York

I have been an employee at BAE Systems for 3 years and I love it here. You can’t blame the company because there are no orders. The government has cut Defense Spending...there is your issue. I will probably be cut as well this year, but I will leave here still supporting the company and what we do every day....protect and hopefully save as many soldiers lives as possible! For those of you who vehemently down this company….good luck finding a company who will pay you the wages and provide benefits that you get at BAE.

Glad to no longer work there

about
I was at BAE when it was Lockheed Sanders and let me tell you...it sucked...especially once they had their 1990 layoff. I was in Nashua and got bumped from engineering into production working in some room where they made nothing but transformers all day long. Not only did the pay sucked but the people there sucked as well. The group leader was a total arsehole and I hated every day of being there especially when the prevvious job was really good. Their benefits suck bad...needing 7 years before getting 3 weeks of vacation. Now they won't even off a pension anymore. I left there and never looked back and now they lay off long time employees in order to screw them out of retirement and they discriminate against older employees..Glad to be out of that rathole.

I am going through my 9th layoff in approximately 18 months , sign my severance on July 11th and have seen the same as well. They are not getting contracts that amount to anything to speak of . It seems they are condensing building locations , selling off equipment and
conducting mass lay-offs .The culmination of this will be re-location of any business left in Fairfield to Sealy ,Texas .When there is location not being profitable the operations get streamlined (combined)
