dispatch is not fair with the jobs they hand out.some people get lots of hours some not. some supervisors cheat and stay out for days or go home and stay on the clock.

Checks & Balances - is always vital!
I've been trying since 2009 to return to Baker Hughes, after me and my husband were both laid off. He was laid off right after the hurricane Ike in 2009 and then I couldn't believe that I would be next in July 2009 especially after I was lucky enough to be selected to win free insurance for our family. I think back on our marriage and know that this event was the driving force leading to our divorce back in 2010.
When corporate decided, they analyzed their driving factors (or what they called "their") without cross referencing it against relevant house hold info
I know why I continue to apply and network in efforts of returning with one of the most "friendliest companies' I've ever worked at - the PEOPLE/WORKERS that initiate and continuously perform; so that BAKER perpetually exceeds above all others!!

i hated baker
I worked for baker in Edmonton for just over 4 years. I worked in the shop and in the field. Biggest issue I had was the company is way to top heavy and half the management is dumb as hell. The supervisors look out for each other as well as upper management. employees look out for each other. They expect you to be there 24/7 and dedicate yourself to baker.

Injuries
Baker Hughes is a waistfull company. They throw away more in the dumpster, such as computers, computer parts that are still in plastic that have never been used. Slave drivers that will work you 14, 16 hours a day when work is available. Do not get hurt while working for this company or your life as you know it will be over. They will buy Judges, Lawyers ect and denie your claim even after you have been on SSA for a period of time because of your injury. I was a toolmaker for them and after my injury I lost everything, and it took 7 years to gewt them to court because of the judges being changed around. I was married for 32 years, and my wife finally lost her mind after watching me suffer for such a long period of time and we divorced. My advise is do not work for a giant that can munipulate the court system and government officials to their benifit. You will loose and be forgotten, I do not care how good of an employee you are. I received an Award for saving Baker 100,000 dollars in machine time alone but it did not help once I became a liability. Just read the reveiews. They have been cought paying off people to attain what they want. OSHA has no power but to fine them for their saftety hasards, and they pay the fines and go about business as usual. I have seen it, I have lived it.
