Burlington Coat Factory fuckings sucks! Management will hire you under false pretenses, making you believe that you will be working an easy going job for the peanuts which are offered to you as compensation. The truth is, that this company will have you running around like a lap-dog, Hired as a CSR, expect to get paid under the median. Hired as a CSR, expect to be running fucking recovery in all the departments where all the shitbag, ghetto motherfuckers cause havoc with the clothing & accesories. Even worse, this company is too cheap to hire a fucking accounting department for it's retail stores, meaning that all CSR & Cashier associates have to do accounting work for the company. Hey! If I wanted to be an accountant I would be getting paid 50+ thousand a year, and not some insulting $8.50 an hour. No health benefits for seasonal either... So when you catch the fucking clap whilst working with all these dirty-ass, ghetto customers you can expect to have to suck it up and pay your own hospital bill.

TICKETING ITEMS

We have scanner laws in Michigan. Basically, what that means is that the items physically have to have the prices on them. That in itself isn't bad. The bad part is that when we put stuff out on the floor, we have to ticket them ourselves. If there are six items in four boxes, it can take a while, and it's a complete waste of time

Most of our ticketing is done in receiving but we have to put sizers on every clothing item we put out, very timely and they don't stay on the hangers, there are little plastic sizers everywhere! And yes, complete waste of time that we just don't have.

Union needed

I have worked for this company for almost 10 years, used to be a nice place to work until about 3 yrs. ago when company ownership changed. Our store is no different then what I am reading, management is horrible, usually in their office whooping it up or outside smoking. They only come to life when they can follow a shoplifter, spend forever watching someone who THEY believe is stealing when in truth they have no idea, just another way to waste time. Our loss averages over $1,000.00 a day. If the company was concerned they would do something about it. We have no security cameras, we are an embarressment to the nice stores around us. This company is a joke anymore, corporate needs to open their eyes!

I don't understand how they can run a contest to clothe a family for a year, and yet they can't spend money to get professionally trained security and security cameras.

I have worked at BCF for a little over 2 years and it is by far the worst job I've ever had. Management sucks in my store. DM sucks too. We get written up for not getting customers phone numbers and verbally harassed by the mgr. of the dept. She is constantly riding my ass about this and getting customers to call and take the survey. I have to watch the front end of the store and keep an eye on customers or thieves while the managers are all sitting in the manager office laughing and eating. Then you have the bad attitude if you call one of them for their key. Then God forbid you have a line of more than 3 customers and you have to call for a back up. The back ups have an attitude also and half the time you have to page 3 or 4 times to get someone up to help. Then having to get a price check is like pulling teeth also. Certain associates are never around and when you do finally get one, you're interrupting their b.s. session or goofing off in receiving. They think we're stupid and don't know what's going on. I would definitely love to get out of this job but just can't afford to be without one right now so I have to suck it up. But BCF is the worst company to work for.

I have been working at BCF for the past 6 years. I used to like working there, but now it really sucks. They expect you to do full-time work on a part-time basis. They want you to do the work of 50 people. On top of that, every employee is register trained, so you're called on every ten minutes. And management wonders why nothing is ever done!!! How can they expect us to get anything done when we don't have enough man power to do the job we were hired to do??? If someone who is higher on the chain comes into the store and wants to know why this isn't done or that isn't done, the managers don't stand up for us. They cover their own asses and blame everything on us.

what a HORRIBLE company to work for!! the management is wack, unorganized, and worse than high school girls (oh and sit in the office all day unless we're having a visit).. you practically have to strangle customers to get their phone numbers or else your fired.. and even tho our store was in the top 3 in our region for the past 3 yrs if we dont sell 50 balloons on an 8hr shift we get written up? bullshit. this company used to be a great company to work for.

FIRST OF ALL THE COMPANY SUCKS!!!!!! They want you to kiss thier ass for crap. every year they collect money for light the night which i dont mind doin its for a good cause, but now if you dont sell a certain amount of balloons every day their cut your hours. you can ask every customer but they're all not gonna donate. you know damn well the manager doesn't care about the kids they just want to look good to thier boss.they have a survey that comes out on some reciepts the customer has to call and do the survey. its on a scale of 1-5 but if you dont get a five you get a zero. half the fuckin customers dont speak english so how do you expect them to do the survey. the worst categories are speed of checkout. HOW FUCKIN FAST DO YOU EXPECT THE LINES TO GO IF YOU ONLY HAVE TWO CASHIERS(out of at least ten registers)!!!!!! they let the customers talk to you anyway they want....but they'll pull you aside and tell you that you were right after the customer leaves. when corp comes they wanna act lke they run things the way that they are supposed to and the pay is ABSOLUTE CRAP!!!! AND their haven't been any raises for about three years, but they have money for new sensors and alarms and dvr's for the front doors. then they wanna tell you that if you dont like it you can find another job......if i could find another job i sure as fuck wouldnt be there. they wanna pay 7-8 dollars an hour....thats how much work im gonna do....... 7-8 dollars worth

I NEVER KNEW I HAD THIS MUCH HATE!!!!

Where do I start with this pathetic excuse for a company? First of all, every year they raise money for children with cancer, which I don’t mind doing, its for a good cause. But now they say that if you don’t sell a certain amount of balloons everyday they will cut your hours, like they aren’t cut as it is. You know damn well the manager doesn’t care about the kids, they just want to look good . It’s not right that they’re taking something so good and using it like some Gestapo crap. I’ve been in there when there is one person on each side of the store and they both are ringing. They want everyone to do three jobs.
There’s a customer survey that comes out every couple of receipts. If the customer calls they are given a scale of 1(bad)-5(great). But the thing is that if you DON’T get a 5 you get a 0 automatically. Fucked up. Then they say that your raise is based in those scores. I haven’t gotten my ten cent raise in about 3 freaking years. You cant give me my raise but you got money for my sensor alarms new displays, TV dvr’s what the fuck ever.
You are supposed to get phone numbers from every customer. OK Everybody doesn’t want to give their phone number, but if you don’t, they’ll cut your hours.
They are quick to tell you that if you don’t like it you can find another job........IF I COULD FIND ANOTHER JOB DO YOU THINK I WOULD STILL BE THERE!!!!
