It would haul a load for them if it paid $20.00 a mile. They are asses. They suck. Load with them and find out for yourself.

Worked for CHR for 4 years and it was 4 years too long. The best thing that ever happened to me was getting laid off. Your branch has to grow by 15% every year in order to see a bonus. This pretty much gives no incentive to work hard because you can bust your a$$ all year long but if everyone else sucks than you get a lump of coal for your bonus. What a sweet deal. Anyway, for prospective employees, look elsewhere unless you have no other option.

It pays off if you work there 70 years

If you follow the projections that your dear leaders give you every year you will realize that if you work there 70 years you can retire A MILLIONAIRE! Wow. I am sold.

There is no truth in it. My uncle retired from there after 24 years of service, but he was not compensated accordingly

terrible company - it is a CULT!

They really do sell you on the Cult life here, it is aweful. They tell you one thng and pull another. After your 3rd or 5th year with the company and then when your pay gets to be to much....they hire a out of the country employee that they pay way less salary too or fresh out of college student and sell them a pipe dream and fire your ass. But the day I was let go was the best day of my life, I have made 4 times the money I ever did with CHR with a competitve company...THANK YOU so much CHR, you made the right choice...Stay away from CHR...their nick name is, C- Cheap and H - Heavy!

Your life is completely lost and they leave you of no where

Soul-sapping

This is a borderline cult of a company. You have to be willing to swallow the company line about how great they are even though they are basically a broker with nothing to offer in value added services. Grand plans reach a critical stage of a beautiful presentation then wither on the vine. Dissent is reason for concern from supervisors, so if you don't like kool-aid, stay away.

I interviewed there once. The manager Norm was a total ass and knew nothing. The employees are so dumb and uneducated it is funny.

Terrible place to work

I found working at central office C.H. Robinson very unsatisfying.

The hours were long, with no sense of direction. Schedules did not seem to mean anything, nor was the quality of work ever kept to any standard. Projects had no focus nor goal, just seemed to be there to justify spending of time and money.

Management were of very low educational level.

carrier

It is true they don't pay and It is the Carrier's fault who doesn't know how to run the business and the brokers are taking advantage. Most of the Carrier willl take the load for nothing, knowing fully that that they are loosing on most trip . Human are liers, cheater, and Crooks. No use of crying when you loose your business or job. You have greated that envirmont.

CHR is a good place to work if you are coming in from another company and leveraging your experience there to make them believe that they need you. If you are coming in as entry level your only hope of making enough income to survive is to be in the boys club with your manager. If you are not then your life will be a living hell. The goal of CHR is to get smart college kids in for 2-3 years and then force turnover. They want the type of people who are looking for security and not wealth. They would rather pay 4 stupid people than pay 1 smart person 6 figures. They get you to work hard and fast with promises of "incentive bonuses" and other bs. income key words and then once you are almost at your peak of being fed up they fall back on what they layed out. This is a company that does not value education. They look down on it internally. I think the learning from CH was great, almost equivalent to a masters degree in logistics management but that was all it was. They are very shady in their payroll and I frequently knew that other sales reps were taking credit for my accounts and being paid on them. Often times they will pay you on a salary that would be GREAT for the mid-west but for your particular region or cost of living part of the country it would be impossible to survive. People who are doing well income wise in the company are looked down on. The corporate culture is almost socialist and touchy feely sort of way. Even if you are the most efficient and work faster than everyone on your team they will actually penalize and reward the obedient but less intelligent person. If I were you don't work here. Go to grad-school and work for another firm, then use CHR as a line on your resume. Because in the end all they want is to use you for a transactional slave. The way they haggle and barter down their carriers and owner operators to take a load is the same way they have trained their managers to haggle and barter down payroll and incentives for talented employe
