Fired for being sick

about
Brought in doctors note to prove I was sick(had pnuemonia). Was still sick when I came back to work. Called in like I was supposed to. Then was expected to "work at top performance" until "legal reviewed"them wanting to fire me. Tell me: Where do we sign up for the classaction lawsuit? They treat their employees HORRIBLY! No wonder their training a new class every damn week. Ive worked in the cable industry before, and never experienced this crap. Comcast is craptastic.

Customers will suffer in the long run

about
With calls routed out of state or out of country the end results is much like that of Charter or ATT "No real customer service" and nothing but transferring customers all over the grid. Those still with Comcast until the end of NOV bare the full on brunt of upset customers given false expectations and devastating Customer Experience by those who have no idea how to handle and satisfy CA customers. Comcast will pay for it dearly as confidence in Comcast's ability to service their largest customer base in the Western region falter to the wayside

I was laid off from Comcast too. I worked for the company for almost as many years and I've seen it spiral downhill as far as being a great company to work for. It's a shame that they are treating their employees so terribly. However, I am a firm believer in karma...everything comes full circle.

Laid off from Comcast

about
I had been working for Comcast for well over a decade when I received my walking papers. There was no notice, just one day my boss came into town and called me into her office with an HR representative by her side. I instantly knew my time had come. It was hard watching the once thriving cable system slowly lose almost half of its workforce and pretty much all of its upper management. It was almost a year ago when the massive layoffs began. The work morale is at an all time low and we barely have enough people to cover the day to day operations.
Shortly after I was told that I would no longer have a job, I was instructed to complete a list of tasks that would take them through December. I understand that I am no longer needed. Why not capitalize on the waning economy by "thinning out the heard." All of that is fine. But, it's the way they treat us during the layoff process. As I prepared for my final days it was, "business as usual." The V.P. was gearing up for an all associates meeting as my co-workers were seeing me off on my final day and assisting me with my personal belongings. When he noticed he told them that if they must help me, they needed to hurry up. It was time to set up for the meeting and I was just one of many whose time had come. The business never stops running and my co-workers were on the clock. He never even bothered to say, "good-bye" or shake my hand. Nothing. Not that he cares, but it hurt my feelings and made me feel foolish for standing behind a company that never cared about my contributions, late nights at the office, volunteerism on the company's behalf...none of it meant a single thing when it was all said and done.
This was not the company that I stated working for so many years ago. It has turned into the very thing that is killing this nation.

Compensate your valuable employees well.

about
Comcast hourly employees morale, health, and well being are in a fast downward spiral. There is no clear understanding on what it takes to advance, and as with most places, hard work is not rewarded.

Management at Comcast will not listen to employee feedback.

Poor organizational communication. Supervisors are not always very polite. Constantly changing. Stressful meeting goals every fortnight.
