CSC is no different than all the other companies out there with government contracts for Iraq or Afghanistan. They are in the "people mill" for "profit" business. This is why they continue to retain people who are unbalanced, violent, and "need help". If they let them go, then the money received for that position from the government is gone too or has to be paid back.

Have been here for 5 years - but thinking of moving on as the company just seems to be getting very layered and boring.

Not many layoffs

about
I have worked for Computer Sciences for approx 4 years and 7 months now. I haven't been in a situation where I may feel depressed with the fear of layoff. But saying this is also not fair that we don't at all have any layoffs. We do, but only for those who deserve it.

Same as every other Government contracting company

about
CSC is just like any other company contracting to the government. Don't fool yourself into thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Same training benefits, same compensation, and the same culture for your career. Learn the politics there and you'll be fine with any other company you may end up with.
