Cooper hiring

about
I worked at the Findlay plant for 17 years. It was a good place to work and I'd do it again. I have alot of stock in Cooper. One thing I would really like to see them change however is there hiring process. When I hired in, you would have to go before the department managers and be questioned. You didn't have to have 2 years of factory experience and an outside hiring source did not do the work for Cooper. They need to take a step back and do this again. Obviously This old way must have work for Cooper to become what has been a good company. Too many of the ones the outsource hiring agency are getting to them are not working out. I realize the time is well spent by the department managers not doing this process, but is it really. It all starts with hiring good people, not just people. Family members are a good start. Get the ones who's parents are good employee's Then keep it community based. Within reason. It all starts with good people and sometimes as the old saying goes if you want it done right do it yourself. That will put Cooper Tire on the very top of all tire manufacturers.

Cooper is a great place to work! The Company is global, but small enough that you really can get to know you colleagues. The Company also seems to have a very solid future. I'd recommend it to anybody.

It's a big company, with a good name, that fits on resume very well. They have a good benefits program and also contribute toward a good retirement program. People at Cooper are helpful and team oriented. If you are willing to relocate and travel extensively, there are more opportunities for advancement. Couple of my folks are very jolly that I don’t realize how fast the time passes and then we pack up for the day thinking of the next day preparations. We are provided surely steady work for most job types in a reasonable atmosphere. We feel proud of the product we make and let the world move.

Cooper Tire Layoffs

about
The management has announced that they would cut down number of people to cut costs in this economic turmoil. It really makes me feel strange that on one hand company is hiring new people, on the other old employees are being made riffed. I believe that old employees are the asset of any organization, but our management feels them as a burden. All my peers have been in low state of mind and productivity because of this news and are unable to focus on their work. I myself feel insecure after this announcement and there is nothing but to wait for the list to be released.
