Recent Tells/Reviews on Copart Inc.

My manager fired me after I had found out my coworker was scamming insurance companies to appease the subhaulers. If drivers didn't want to pick up cars he would unclear them and allow them to accrue storage. I have documentation of several issues within the yard I worked. The insurance companies are the people who assist us in getting a paycheck. It is inappropriate to waste their money on storage because a dispatcher was to lazy or could not handle the role of instructing drivers to pick up cars.

management and why employees quit

Here is all I have to say it seems like the issue all across this company. It appears to be management. I wish that upper management (the people at corp,) would take at look at what is going on in the yards. Since the people at the yards will not say anything in fear of loosing their jobs maybe someone should talk to the ex-employees (people that left on their terms, not Copart's) Maybe this way the company will not spend so much money on training and focus on keeping the good employees that they have. I worked at a yard that went threw more then 23 employees in about 4 1/2 years (these are only the employees that I remember). At some point in time someone has to take a hard look at things and figure out that it is not the employees but it might be management. I left a job where I had hours of 8-5, good pay, good benefits, to a 4 dollar an hour pay cut, less benefits and not a set schedule. The main reason why I left was because of management, not members, towers, co-works or even the job, but 100% management. If there is a person from Copart in upper management that would like to speak about this please feel free to respond.

I have been a customer of Copart for over 10 years. I have seen mangers come and go, three of them at the Phoenix Yard. The worst decision they ever made was their new placement of cars up for sale. If you have been to any location, you know exactly what I mean. They are the only place that makes it hard to look at what is for sale. Cars are mixed up with cars that are sold and going to be sold. The grid system SUCKS!!!!

Agreed! Also the no key situation could be solved and more cost effective in the long run with one simple two simple fixes.

Incompetent Management

Unless you are willing to kiss azz do not bother to apply. Fromm 7 years experience with the company, if management dislikes you they will flat out lie to try and get you terminated (happened to me twice). Replaces great hard-working managers with incompetent morons.

Very sad

I worked for the company for 14 years. I put my all into very day. I was the first person to win the race award. I was called the dispatch Guru.I watched many managers come and go for many different reasons. I accepted the office manager position yard 78 reluctantly as I know how easy it can be to take the fall for upper management. I had a great rapport with the clients and employees. I love working with people. I have compassion for people. Too much to deal with this " boys club". I was let go about a year ago and my managers looked like they enjoyed it! Very Painful. But I have a job now where my employers actually appreciate what I do. I really thought the company would care about my dedication, and that my management team would help me and back me up. But I was wrong. We are all replaceable to them and now they dont have to pay the wages I worked my butt off to get to. Hard reality. But big business does not care! Dog eat dog!

maybe we can get together on this. I am also an ex employee with the same issues.

As another ex-employee of Copart, I can attest to the way they treat their people. I started out as a yard agent and worked my way to receiver when I was "Let Go". Come to find out that unless you work in the office, you won't last more than a year (at least in he yard I was at). I have witnessed first-hand how the manager would purposely pull one person off their job for no reason and have another worker do both his job and the others only to be written up for not doing what they were told to do. Another instance is where they chewed out and fired a forklift driver for "damage he caused to a vehicle", but did not listen to me (the receiver) and another yard agent that the damage was already there when the vehicle came in to the yard. This manager is still with the company but the revolving door of yard people is swinging wildly there. I still talk to people I worked with there and a few customers who have stopped buying from Copart due to how things are. Funny thing is, when our manager went to Mexico for a Copart convention, our interim Manager couldn't understand why our yard was being run this way. Thanks to this company I lost everything.

WORST company to work for ever!!! They keep their locations HIGHLY understaffed. Employees are over worked and under paid.

Laid Off

I have been a dedicated in employee at Copart for 4 years but have been laid off twice within the last year and have lost everything. I really don't understand why considering I am one of the most knowledgeable employees and know how to work every aspect of the yard from yard agent where I started to dispatcher I have done it all but I was laid off and a guy who had only been with the company for a little over a year is taking my place. I feel like I have been wronged especially when after I came back from my first layoff and they promoted me to dispatcher and i was told that I wouldn't have to worry about being laid off again because I was in a position now that was pretty much indispensable. But they have the money to buy Nascar cars and trucks and send out memos to employees boosting about $4 million profits which was followed buy notification that insurance rates were being raised 25% company wide and that we would no long have FMLA benefits. I also had many questions when I came back after my first layoff that were never answered and lost all of my seniority and benefits. So to all of u out there who have been lied to by Copart and told that Copart was a secure place to work watch your back!
