Was contracted here. All I can say it's better for you to decline an interview and say no to a job offer or to work at this site. Horrible Leadership. Working here reminded me of high school days and if you weren't the popular one or if you didn't fit in their click your where doomed the moment at arrival. 100 percent chance you'll be fired for doing your job just like me. HR ppl simply don't give a shit about you or listening to issues going on. Hell there not even at this site to monitor all the bullshit going on. No advancement. Job was great just the environment sucks badly and extremely hostile. Would never suggest working here....

I hate it here!

This job is awful! The temps, and even the permanent Program Specialists all get treated like crap. You have to work here almost a year as a temp in order to get any sort of benefits.

Micromanagment is one of the main aspects of this company! You can get in trouble for the dumbest things. There's no growth here either.

Lastly, with the rate I get paid at, I would meet the income requirements for the low-income patient assistance programs I work with!! SMH.

Nepotism runs rampant at Covance. It’s worse than the North Korean government. If you don’t want to be fired from Covance, then become married to a pathologist or to one of the upper management goons. There are so many married couples and relatives in upper management it’s actually creepy and weird. Covance is trailer park trash.

HR dept not for the people

After almost 15 yearse, I was fired. This was after having spent more than 6 months meeting with HR and my boss who had spent a year using bogus metrics to "prove" that I was not up to par. HR finally stated he must correct such measures however; they also said point blank that it was not necessary to correct the formula he had been using the past year. All previous metrics used against me would stand.. This is only one of MANY things that occurred.

My manager actually manufactured a PIP. Much to his dismay, I have proof that everything he alleged was a blatant lie!!! My day in court is coming and CVD is going down.

I agree, Covance is one of those companies that uses the PIP (performance improvement plan) to cover managers buts and fire employees. When I went to HR to tell them of discrimination and shouting, I was told he was just "passionate' about his work.

Aggressive & Hostile

Bullying as well as aggressive and hostile management approaches are highly encouraged and tolerated. Excessive workloads that exceed the capacity for one person to handle. After many years spent with the company I was laid off under a bold-faced lie that I found a new position and was moving on to greener pastures! Everyone was congratulating me on my new job!

I was in corporate marketing and experienced bullying and hostile environment -- even after a written complaint was filed with HR -- only to lose my job after achieving historic results in my position. And then to hear that my ex-manager said I left "kicking and screaming"!!? I was so happy to see that he was fired one year later and Covance will have to defend its actions in a court of law.

Happened to me too, even if you working with them and let them know you are considering other job offers, they treat you shamefully. The management and employee handling by the HR staff is delplorable, and in many cases illegal in the states they operate. Count your blessings you are at least free from that place that tortures humans as well as animals for profit.

Big Layoffs!

Merry Christmas!!! Well, not so much for the RTS (Recruitment Talent Services) team across the world. Expect to find out that 95% + of the team later this month will be outsourced to an RPO. This is coming from Lisa Uthgenannt our VP of HR who was fired from J&J and hired by us. The funny thing is J&J tried the outsourced model while Lisa Uthgenannt was there but did not work and eventually brought the work back in-house. Humm I think someone did not learn a lesson last time around, I don’t blame her but I do blame Joe Herring our CEO for making a bad hire. If only little Joey would think with his big head instead of his little head. Also, if you are a young woman or just have boobs and care for powerful men feel free to go to Big Fish where little Joey likes to pick-up women.

Sounds like Joe and the upper management gang should be put on a PIP (performance improvement plan). It would be nice if they had to endure what they dole out to their slaves, using PIPs to dispose of employees fits right in with the Covance model of tits/ass before performance or truth.

CRO = Work Without A Life

I have to be honest Covance wasn't the worst but any CRO equals out to little more than a factory job with animals. Early mornings, late nights, immature leadership. All these places (CROs) look for is tits, ass, and the ability to drink copious amounts of alcohol. So as bad as it is unless you can move up to a real pharmaceutical company you're stuck unless you switch careers. If you can't change careers, or move on and up you'll probably be stuck at some shithole competitor like MPI Research.
