This has to be the worst company I have ever worked for. The pay is good, not as great as it was a few years ago. The only way you can support a family on the wages is from the mandatory overtime. You give up your life working here. The management staff treats the production team like concentration camp workers. Everyday new RULE and regulations. The safety record id a BIG joke... then again, everything at this place is a joke. Feels as if I sold my soul to the devil. I am not alone when I say.... I hate this place.

I have been in the "hiring pool" for about a year now. Should I even expect anything to come from it?

Thundering economy

about
Currently - market conditions are making it very stressful to work here plus Deere is losing ground. Like all other companies in the market, it is also compelled to reduce its staff to cover up expenses. The current time is coming heavy on US workers as the economy threatens US market. I don't know how long I am here to work.

Deere rifs

about
The company has suspended promotions and raises for some time, and there is a hiring freeze, on top of all layoffs in the latter part of last year. Deere has moved to a High Deductible Healthcare Plan, with deductibles over $2000. We see lack of reward in the interim due to current economic conditions. Continued layoffs and reduced benefits will hurt the company even more in the long term.

Deere Layoffs?

about
Management here rules by fear, with no people skills or leadership abilities. Never knowing if you are going to be around next week regardless of how you are performing. Management is incented to increase productivity every year and the fasted way to increase productivity is to reduce staff. It is not easy to find someone working in a management spot for more than 1 year because he either leaves or is laid off. Layoffs are constantly coming and we too are also becoming victim of it.

Deere Layoff

about
The numbers keep going up -- that is just making all of us constantly anxious. I actually have survived many layoffs in my life/career since I have just been a very solid worker -- but to tell you the truth -- I am quite nervous this time. This doesnt feel like a regular recession it is just something else. No one, seems like no one is Deere or even my neighbors are save.

Good Company

about
Deere offers a great family friendly work environment and they're very flexible when I need to take care of family or personal matters. Due to relatively high turn-over, there are abundant opportunities to move up for those who work hard. The work environment is stress-free and generally fun; certainly nothing you will dread going to every day. They have a great 401k match (8%). Deere is a very good place to initiate your career and work your way up, especially if you make associations with people who are willing to help you advance in the corporation.
