Wanted to buy alienware M15x for replace my old MAC, talked to a lady in India with a very pushy and annoy attitude, with bad English and cannot communicate further, I asked her nicely for her e-mail so I can send the specifcation I want. She called me like 10 times in one hour each day and night for 3 days in a row, I was in meetings and it was very embarrassing. Someone took over and he was very nice. I place my alienware M15x order on 23/March, EDD was 14th/April. I said to him that I do need the computer on 20-25th of April the latest, because I need this computer to work abroad. He saids no problem. On 10th of April, my computer was still "prepare for production". E-mail him, no answer, called up order support, didn't got much help either, after 10 minutes, status changed to "in production". What a lie. Without any notification to the customer whatsoever the next day EDD was 27th of April?? Got the sale guy by e-mail, he said no worry, it will come between 20-25th. Order was shipped by UPS on 17th of April, called up UPS on 19th of April, due to valcano ash cloud. but somehow DELL said the items was shipped, in fact UPS said they never got the parcel, DELL hold it back. Today, 26th of April. It is 4 days since valcano ash is cleared now. UPS do not have the parcel, took me 2 hours try to connect to DELL customer support, the guy ask me to give him one more day to clear the situation. Paid a lot, very very bad service and support, still no laptop after 1 month and I have to call so many number to chase up for something I purchased. I am going abroad to work on 30th of April without a laptop, so how am I going to work? Even DELL cannot do a re-deliver to my hotel abroad. After all this time, effort and trouble.

Place was good

about
When i forst got the job i was thrilled! The benefits were good, the pay was decent, I loved my manager he was AWESOME!!!! loved my co-workers, the catered lunches and brunches were great...then all hell broke loose!!!!!!! Once i really started to get the feel for the job i was amazed at how easy it was to cheat....I remember how a good freind of mine was cheated out of a management position. he was number 1 in sales all the time, he always hit his quota no matter how high they set it! he was always rated best in customer service and satifaction. if he said he was gonna call you back he did sometimes twice! he was an excellent LOR rep. but since he was not sleeping with tthe person who was doing the hiring for managers he lost out to an underqualified candidate..this happened all the time. i once saw another rep put $50,000 worth of equipment on an a customers order just to hit his quota....and guess what! he got promoted to manager!!!! then Dell started giving us quotas that were so high they thought we could never attain then just so they could not pay us. little did they know we were very good at what we did in the resellers division and we all hit out quotas and some went above and beyond and went over them and did not get a dime extra. shame on you Dell....you still owe me some money!!! then to make things worse they fired my boss and that was the last straw for me.. I'm very glad i left! i feel very bad for those who are still there. God help them all!

Being a part of the corporate world we all are aware that today we are in a “Learning economy”. If you are not abreast you are obsolete in a few months. This question would be in the mind of almost every ambitious employee, what does your organization do or should do for your professional development in both “on-the-job” and “off-the-job” areas? Most companies have written down policies on Employee Development and spend very little money or the time actually doing the Employee Development. However, I regard our company among best in the industry and in corporate world. We are enjoying a perfect balance of work-place and personal development.

Re: GARBAGE

about
1 year, 6 days after I ordered a $1000 Dell laptop, the harddrive
began failing.. It was difficult to find a tech support
number, and when I called I was kindly told that my warranty was out
of service even though I technically had received the computer LESS
than a year ago, as it took a few weeks to ship to me. I paid over
$1000 for this computer and expected it to last me at least 3 years.
my lab group after this experience I've had with Dell's inferior
quality. I've tried to contact an actual person to discuss
perhaps getting this computer repaired, but to no avail. My Dell is
going in the trash.I contacted your customer service and got a "your feedback is important" form letter along with a contact number for technical support that charges because the warranty is up. I shouldn't have to pay money for a computer that broke less than a year after I received it. My Toshiba I purchased before my Dell ran perfectly for four years, even though it was heavily used. It was still working perfectly the day I sold it, when I bought my new $1000 Dell. I'm taking my business and my research groups' business back to Toshiba unless I can get my computer fixed somehow on your dime. The quality and customer service I've experienced at Dell are similar to what I would have expected from Acer, but at least they charge 1/3 less for their products.

At the bare minimum I'd appreciate a replacement harddrive. I've

Worst shopping experience of my life

about
I just received my Dell monitor that I ordered with my desktop computer 3 months ago. In order to get it, I had to spend about 15-20 hours on the phone with Dell in total, as well as send emails back and forth for a two month duration. On top of that, I had to sit at Purolator on hold with Dell for them to clear the package for me for over an hour (which made me late for a wedding rehearsal dinner). Receiving this order has been one of the most terrible experiences of my life and absolutely tops the list when it comes to shopping experiences.

Since the monitor was so late (and the desktop arrived on schedule, two and a half weeks after the order), I had no way to test the machine, and the 30-day money back guarantee is no longer valid. You may be thinking the same thing I am: the 30 days should begin from the time the entire package is received. Well, Dell has found a way around this. They chopped the first monitor up (the one that never arrived) as a missing item and called the monitor I currently have a replacement. The 30-day money back guarantee does not apply to replacement products, even though there is no way to test the machine for a 30-day duration without the monitor.

With the exception of all the crap they load on the machine, my Dell Studio XPS is powerful and I got it at a decent price. However, the hassle it took to deal with Dell representatives and bureaucracy was not at all worth it.

I will never purchase from Dell again. PERIOD.

Hope this has helped you in your purchasing decision.

Regards from,
One of many annoyed Dell customers

1900 people have been laid off

about
It is true that Dell is laying off all IT contractors. They also paused many projects. I am one of the affected. I just came to know the number of head cuts may be around 2000 by the end of next session. They have not made a formal release, but it sounds like there will be more in the coming days. Dell has already laid off 1900 workers in Ireland and the production has moved to Poland.

Dell layoffs

about
This company used to care a great deal about its people, but the "People Promise" went out the window long ago. Sadly, upper management doesn't view employee morale as a concern. It's no wonder that people are leaving, working fewer hours, and just don't care about the company any more. In addition, frequent layoffs are cropping up, making the environment more monotonous and problematic. We have heard that company is once again going for a round of layoffs with hundreds of employees becoming jobless.
