Management doesn't care about what you are doing unless a customer complains. The environment is very political and many times good people are brought down. There is no real leadership, as the people in charge are often inept. There is a long standing old boys’ network and it is very difficult for individuals to get ahead and be promoted. Also, the management takes you for granted until you are good for them.
When the recession recently, many of the talented people were shown the exit door and the people who are of no use were in safe place because they were close to the senior management and had no fear of losing job. I think if the same case occurs couple of time, there will be nobody good to run the company.
