Job of my choice

about
Since my childhood I’ve been fascinated by the games, and everybody would agree that gaming in now a days something out of this world experience. I remember that it happened accidently that I became a part of the company two years back, though now I suppose that I should have plan to be a part of it. Nevertheless, all’s well that ends well. I went to pay a visit to my uncle at Houston at that time, and there I met a guy with a handsome looks, I could never initially have a wildest of my imagination that this could be a tech-guy, since my perception regarding them was quite freaky. Anyhow, after the introduction he explained that they are looking forward for smart guys in their Accounts & Finance department, and my first reaction was accounting and finance graduates are for CA firms only.

Political environment

about
Well, I found working for Electronic Arts to be very political. Management treats employees like children, giving them nearly no awareness of the budget process or overall vision of the company. The autonomy of the business units sometimes makes global efforts a challenge since there are many smaller fiefdoms inside. It's almost like everything is a secret, even from employees themselves. Also, the organization is kind of flat so if you're looking to climb a corporate ladder, this probably isn't the best place to do that. Some people may feel it is too big for them and they are right in some way.

Got laid off

about
Man, this new management sucks. Our sales are up, the company is doing well and yet they embark on a layoff. I just read that video games are the only industry that is recession proof right now so why this action.

Why cant our Mgmt be more like Cisco and just shut down and everyone sacrifice a little rather than laying off some of us.
