Layoffs at EY in Advisory for 2013
I am part of EY's consulting group (Financial Services) and I know two people who have been let go in 2013 due to slow business. It is not good to be on the bench right now. EY's business is not doing well.

Just resigned from EY - after working there for two weeks. What a horrible place with really bad leadership! I saw two other EY employees resign in the time I was there and the rest are miserable and all looking for new jobs - outside of EY. The people were working 60+ hour weeks while the director was going home at 4:00 every day. The politics there must have worn him out.
Don't believe anything they tell you during the interview process as I have found out the hard way that they lie to get you in the door thinking you're trapped once you start.
Best advice I can give: DO NOT GO TO WORK AT EY.

E&Y IT is suffering
The IT Services organization is being cut to the bone and replaced with far inferior technicians and managers. In all appearances, the US staff is fully expendable and is expected to be reduced to nothing.

E and Y Middle East
A rascist company culture that favors Asians. Back stabbing is the route to promotions from staff level all the way to partner level. A serious lack of professionalism, and unfortunately if you happen to be a relative or friend of someone at senior management level then you can guarantee a long term career even if you dont have the qualifications or skills.

EY Greece is a total joke
One of the worst companies to work for EVER. They laid me off and gave me a notice of ONE DAY in the middle of my audits. I wish to god I had NEVER joined this firm. There is a LOT racism and sexism in this crappy company. If you kiss ass and call the partners and senior managers home for lunch and dinner, walk their dogs and cats while they are on a vacation you are OK. Think a billion times before joining this company. At the smallest whiff of an unstable economy they lay off people, give them no reason, no severance pay and NO support. Dont waste your talent at this crappy company. Go elsewhere. The managment at this company is CRAP, SICK, ARROGANT and POWER-HUNGRY. God help you if you belong to a minority or black community especially in TEXAS.

meat factory
it is a big corp., but people working there is just not that intelligent. the firm tend to hire a lot during economic boom and fire as many as possible during the recession. real good for the partner i guess. if you are working there, make sure drive a lot of coffee each day to stay alert.
