Asian male shall never join this company. Minorities and females are somehow protected. White male will either fly or leave anyway.

I wirked for Exxon for 2 years, one and a half of that as a contractor, and then 6 months as an employee. The discriminatory practices I observed in their operations in my country was blatant. Everything from pay to conditions of expatriates brought in to do locals jobs. I am taking them to court soon questioning the ground on which they terminated my employment a couple of days after my probation was up. Trust me, they are not all they are made to be - perhaps in their first world country operations where they can't get away with much - but in their third world country operations, its rife!!

I felt discriminated and left two years ago.

ExxonMobil Baytown Refinery/Chemical Plant is well known for terminating minorities within days of the employee completing their probation. The site has an 18 month probation and you would think that if the employee were not making the grade it would have been noted before only days of the employee completing the probationary period. The strange thing is it is only happening to minority employees. Hanging nooses have been found hanging on minority employees bicycles as well as on towers in certain areas. This XOM site termination statistics need to be looked over by off site upper management or someone outside of the company. Human Resources employees are well aware of the situation and feel that it is a concern but are afraid of consequences of possible retaliation therefore they only warn minorities of being careful because of the racism. The site management stands on the Texas as a Right to Work State and continues to discriminate and mistreat unsuspecting employees.
