Continued layoffs
GDC4S continues to layoffs is employees to compensate for its leadership ineptness Yet accountability and action at the leadership level is non existent.
Major changes and reductions are needed with the president and the vast amount of VPs
Any young engineer would have to be pretty hard up to come to GDC4 S

Lack There of
I have been working for the Land Systems side of the house for over 7yrs and before that I had 20 plus years of expirience of Army Logistics, what I have found in my time of employment is the lack of leadership especially from Auburn. There is no standard, no fair and equal treatment, morale is low due to the lack of quallified experienced supervisors. There is no support from Upper Management ( Warehouse Manager) so what is left is a very unhappy hostile working enviroment filled with threats and unfair work practices.

Lousy company
A long time employee, I have experienced a very tyrannical and cruel management style. Aso we lived under the constant threat of firings and we did indeed see many excellent employees walked out which sscared us even more as these actions seemed totally unwarranted. They also very quietly and slowly, so as to not attract attention, rid themselves of the older employees who have the larger salaries. Then they can hire newly educated younger personnel and literally get a two-for-the-price-of-an-old-one deal. They do not view their employees as anything of value. A terrible company, and I would never recommend any of my qualified relatives go to work for them. Compared to other defense contractors for whom I have worked, GD is really the bottom of the barrel.

I just really hope that things get better for me within this company. Right now, I do not feel as if I am being used to the highest of my potential. I would really like for the managers to give me a chance to show them how much I really can contribute to the company instead of assuming that I'm young and inexperienced.

Pay is not the greatest, especially when compared with other commercial companies, but it's reasonable. Human resource is dedicated to protecting corporate policies instead of protecting employees' jobs. Layoffs occur here on quarterly basis while no such benefits are given to them who are let go.

The workforce is older here because the new ones are not retained for longer period of time and are laid off when ever the economy slows unless they can find the right sponsors or mentors within the old boys' network. The senior leadership doesn't seem to understand the fast changing market and customers it works with, though there is a current effort to remedy some of this. We are working under lot of stress and striving to protect our jobs.

It’s a pretty nice place to work for, especially the work environment. Qualified and supportive people overall. I still remember my first day (as a junior network engineer), my managers and co-workers welcomed with open arms. They did not treat me like new comer and were always willing to help me when ever I was in any critical situation. I constantly had opportunities to work on interesting projects at GD. But, on the other hand! middle mgmt was relatively incompetent and did not have an art to recognize talent and how to grow it.. Employees worked efficiently but they never got appreciated or compensated well.
