Hertz equipment rental was a good place to work but now there is so much back stabbing and disloyalty that it sucks. No job security the let people go for know reason. i would not recommend it to anyone.

Stiff corporate culture

about
Your career growth is limited as there isn't much room at the top. The rental car industry is relatively slow and work is often not challenging enough. The corporate culture is very stiff and old fashion. Ten years ago, it was the largest equipment rental company in the United States. The back-stabbing and undermining is ridiculous. Sr. leadership is quite selfish with massive layoffs but huge bonuses for themselves. This has made career possibilities very shaky.

Bad economy is hurting business and morale. We were told about large amount of layoffs, let’s say near 4000. Unfortunately, this company laid off thousands of employees last year putting profit ahead of the company’s most important asset, its people. And it’s once again making reduction on big scale.

Hertz Layoffs

about
My company is going to cut 3000 jobs in the near future. I am not surprised at all about what is going on at Hertz Global. Also, I feel that some of my upper management would rather teach and train by the book, but not practice what they are preaching.
I would say that they should start promoting people that actually have the ability rather than laying them off. If someone is new to the company it doesn’t mean he is a green horn, similarly not always an old employee can be considered an asset of the company. If layoffs keep happening like this, we are gonna lose everybody who is a real worker.
