Ditto on the unwanted/unexpected Charge
Just received my 1st unwanted/unexpected "Gold Course". Went back to the website, and it took me 10 min. to locate (in small type on the order page) a very generic blurb about the "Pimsleur Rapid Fluency Purchase Program".
There is absolutely NO information about future costs. I scoured the site looking for it. It's obvious that Internet Order LLC does NOT want you to know what you are signing up for, and the very limited (and easily overlooked) information about the "Pimsleur Rapid Fluency Purchase Program" convinces me that they do NOT even want you to know that you're signing up for a repeat billing.
Further, the invoice date on my "free trial" is Aug 8th. I received the package Aug 24th. Does that mean that I have only 14 days left on my "30 day trial"?
Regardless the quality of the language CDs, this company is involved in unethical business practices. I will be cancelling my "subscription", requesting that my CC information be expunged, requesting a Return Authorization Number, and returning the Gold Course with Receipt Verification to provide proof of the return.
If my CC is ever charged, or a collection agency ever calls me regarding this transaction, I will be filing complaints with the FTC, the BBB, and the Attorneys General of both the state of Pennsylvania and my home state.
It is unfortunate that some companies require legal pressure in order to force them to follow good, ethical business practices.
