I wish Gerald Schwartz, could commit on How JeldWen, RodWendt, Saxton, BarryH, and his own are killing the current employees ESOP/401k and NOT Allowing Stock Holder assest to their Stocks. It's been going on since 2007 and Lisa Bode and VP's are laughing at all of them. They as bad as Bain Capitol if not worst. Remember them when you vote in NOV>

Say no to unions

We are in a global recession. It is difficult for every one including management. Look to what happened in the UK. We lost all our industries due to unions holding the country to ransom for higher wages. It is simple economics. Why produce in UK for £10 if you can produce in Eastern Europe for£1. Your plants will be closed if they become uneconomical.
Sit tight and wait for things to turn around.
The management want the same things as you do.
Think twice before any action is taken

Sensitive subject as you can see/ JW Brass is communicating with you all. Union scares the hell of Wendt. His Father Dick is long noticed on anti Unions, anti Social Security. For years Dick Wendt tired to elimate SS in Oregon. Check his bio on Google. Rod is the same, corporate profits for Onex. All you skeletions in the factories have no future with JW. Its a job nothing more, no benefits, Onex, Wendt, Saxton made sure Onex stock holders reap the benefits. Normal business at Onex, nothing for JW employees. Look at the BofDirectors, all JW staff is gone. Onex controls the company. Unions will bring them sell JW or go public soon. Get the Unions involved and YOU will see the Black Sheep in JW.

The garland plant needs alot of reconstruction. The OM is very rude to customers and employees.....

There seems to be a lot of chatter about how bad Jeld-Wen treats the workforce. My thinking is that if its that bad, why keep doing things the same way expecting different results. The answer is to "GO UNION". I know the IAM has been offering a better way. What do you have to lose? Unions offer an opportunity to level the playing field. Lets fill out the cards and TALK to the union reps.

The OM in Garland is terrible. He is rude and hateful and thinks he is a know it all......

So what are you going to do about it?

Union reps

From reading most of the complaints about Jeld-Wen I think you should all take a good look at the world economy. Also what the unions did to the uk.
The miners union rep Arthur Scargill ruined the industry and was only interested in himself. He has more than proved this with the recent high court case. You may all realise that the mining industry in the UK is non existent . Hence no money.
However Scargill took them to court as he believed they should pay his £34k per year rent on his London pad as a pension settlement.
This just proves the kind of man he is.
Take heed. If you want industry stay away from the unions .
You are lucky to have a job.
Management is difficult enough in these times of depression SO try and back them all way to secure your future.

I have seen coworkers with nearly 20 years of backing jeld-wen get canned over a can of chili because of the habit of hiring inept management from the bottom of their respective classes. Our manager is a failed pe teacher that only works at jeld-wen due to his parents connections, so I am sorry, but backing a bad play is never a feasible decision, and continuing down the same path is unacceptable, and any change in direction is needed

going downhill

jeld-wen is leting temps in to work and full time employees are not even getting 40hrs a week how is this right.
mach. ops use to be a level 5 now they add more to my job and put us at a level 2a no brainer why people are looking for another job
the money is not there and no hours with all the bills this = broke and in debt eat or gas when econ. gets better and they get swamped with orders people will go to another job. they did not care about us so why care about them new people hired with no clue how things work = bad units being shiped out and unhappy customers = close it down

Managment should reach out and terminate managers that regularly utilize profanity, and reinstate those that were terminated for unfounded reasons, this would show their worthy of respect. Unfortunately, until management is willing to be respectful, and fair I will re guard them as vindictive and inept.....

Zero Defects

I am a temp at Venice, FL Jeld Wen Windows and Doors. I build the aluminum frame doors. Whenever I report a defect or a characteristic out of spec, or bugs between the glass, it's always "Not that bad" or "We've made worse". I'm amazed what goes out the door.

I get that. If you push too hard (to do the right thing) you will be threatened with things to include termination. That is one of the reasons why many of us here on the west coast are really considering the IAM Union.

You want to unionize a company that gives you a high wage, benefits, 401k, wellness and vacatin. wake up, what more do you want, unless youre a slacker wanting to screw your employer.
