Horrible company

Watch out for this builder. They put cheap materials in their homes and cover it up well. They are very greedy and management does not care about the people, just themselves and how they look.

Nightmare

Lennar is a very controlling company , a dictactorship in many ways . We are in the final stages of walk thru just before move in . Our Lennar final walk thru was follwed immediately by our own inspector , which Lennar was not to happy with . I am glad we got our own inspector , he pointed out several different deficiancies within 5 min of being there which led to a confrontation with the Lennar Construction Asst. Mgr. out in the street . The house was incomplete and we were doing a final walk thru , no gas meters , no water meters , half the back yard was missing , there was a huge water leak in the garage ceiling that they painted over and just left including the stains , Hole in the A.C. in attic and many other items the Lennar rep "Failed" to notice on final walk thru . They have you sign all sorts of documents that prevents any recourse against this company in the event of anything and I mean anything . We have 5 file folders 3 inches thick of this stuff and are not finished , they controll everything and that is scary . They dazzle you with the models , using upgraded materials but the actual house are fitted with at times very cheap materials , their workers that build these homes do not speak English ( not unusual anymore ) but they really don't care how your house is built . I would bet a lot of money is passed around to get these homes passed inspection(s) . I hope and pray we have not stepped into this time , Lennar should be investigated but I'm sure there are entities that won't allow this . Buyer Beware with Lennar , this is just an opinion .

Very Scary Company

We are in the process of rescinding our offer and "hopefully" can get our deposit back under the 3 day cooling off period . After reviewing all the disclosures and documents we signed , which are a ton of them it seems this company has an enormous amount of control over the buyer , even including the HOA . I have to be honest they do dazzle you with their models , but after looking further into the actual homes , landscaping , infrastructure etc. they appear to be cheaply made. However my fear is they act like a big brother keeping and eye on everything you do and they seem to have to much control over your property , even after you move in. They scare the H*** out of me , especially if this is the direction homebuilders are going.

Horrible construction, cheap materials, lies

I can't say too much because it looks like we will be forced to sue Lennar for serious issues with our new "semi-custom" home. From start to finish Lennar omitted important information regarding our home site, lied, used laborers we couldn't communicate with. Hired subcontractors who did shoddy work and hired some who were sent back to their "home country" early because the sub had used all the hours of labor the govt. alloted them for the training program these guys were hired into. Lennar had to "do-over" several parts of the build. Lennar uses warranty reps that must be paid a bonus for not having to do any repairs because you cannot get them to do any. The warrantee reps make appointments and no one shows up nor calls. Would never buy another Lennar home no matter what part of the country and will let everyone I know how they treat their customers.

Lennar is the worst home builder I've ever dealt with. They use cheap materials, they lie about what's included and omit important disclosures such as easements, etc: Their warrantee reps must get a bonus if they don't do any warrantee work because though we've asked for many for a year most of it has not been done as yet. There are so many more horrible things I could say about Lennar but I will withhold it as we may be forced to sue them in the near future. Not worth the prices they get for these "semi-custom" homes.

HOA - Jacksonville

First, my husband and I love our Lennar home in Jacksonville and the customer service we received since day one. We have a major issue with our HOA provider. We pay an outrageous yearly amount for - a small pool & playground, no other amenties as promised, excess land that is mowed every 3-4 months and littered with trash. Further, we have vehicles allowed to park in this area. We feel we have a great community, but the land is an eyesore. We feel for the fees paid, this land should be properly maintained and more amenties should be in place.

Worked for Lennar 12+ years in the Clermont Fl. Division had good experiences and many many learning opportunities. Yes I was laid off in 2007 due to the market conditions but I feel the company did this in a fair and dignified manner. Would welcome the opportunity to work for Lennar again.

It is strange enough to hear something positive about a company which laid you off. Huh...

If you were indeed laid off in 2007 - why would you post something like this now? It doesn't make sense. Most people wouldn't go on a website and write a positive post on a company that laid them off 3 yrs after the fact. if you were indeed laid off in '07 - that means you were one of the first to go. The odds of them ever welcoming you back are slim to none.

I read some negative things online about Lennar while I was shopping around for the perfect home. But, I know they are a big company and so I try and take those things with a grain of salt. People are so quick to rant about a negative situation, but I hardly ever hear of anyone going out of their way to post something online about a positive experience. I started to wonder how many positive experiences were out there for each negative one... probably quite a few.

So here I am, sharing my positive experience. I bought a Lennar home in Houston last year, and I absolutely love it! I had a wonderful sales person, who made me feel at ease with the daunting task of buying my first home. The process went smoothly and I got a quality product, delivered as promised. I was constantly calling with questions, and always felt like they had time for me, and would go out of their way to get things done. I love my home and have had no major issues thus far, just typical home maintenance. I would definitely recommend them, and if I'm ever in the market for a new home again, I'll be looking for Lennar!

Again - Lennar is very smart and greedy - you must be a current employee. This review stinks of someone in management writing this review.

BUYER BEWARE

The big ripoff. Before anybody purchases a Lennar home I suggest they do there due diligence. They promise everything, deliver nothing. There are numerous websites directed by unhappy homeowners who purchased Lennar homes. Poor quality homes. failure to preform as promised. the list goes on. There legal dept. sends me rhetoric periodically trying to shut me up. nice job Lennar.
TOM "ANUS" SHEAFF WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FINISH MARE ISLAND AS PROMISED? WE HAVE BEEN LIVING IN A DUMP SITE FOR 5 YEARS. BUYER BEWARE.

I LOVE my Lennar builder. I think it is sad that the only time people do these reviews is when they don't like something. The company as a whole is doing a great job. They are trying to be greener! My electic bill this month was just under $50! They have great customer service. Of course all companies have some bad lemons but I have only gotten the best! And I recommend them to to all of my friends!
