about
I got laid off two months ago. I was actively working projects, but my supervisor tells me that he's laying me off because he didn't have any work for me to do. Actually, he chose to dump me and to protect other employees who could retire but were too f***** greedy to. It was supposed to be about cutting positions and realignment but it was really a free for all where first line supervisors could get rid of people they didn't like without facing wrongful termination suits (or so they think). The thing is - they didn't have to lay off anybody. The CEO didn't get his usual outrageous bonus this year. Members of the good ole boy club remain, sipping coffee, playing solitaire and surfing the net. After being out in the job market for 2 months I realize that I will be unemployed for a long time because there's nothing else. I regret the day I ever met the LM recruiter. Before I went there I had goals and dreams - and a good position somewhere else that I shouldn't have left. Now,,, I don't know what.
