LL is also dangerous

I foolishly purchased their schon engineered qucik clic, which should not be sold as flooring material as it is not durable, meant for normal wear and tear, out $10,000 with installation. They will not stand behind product, now I am reading it exceeds the safe formaldehyde levels, by three times & causing cancer, I am ready to join a class action lawsuit. I have filed with the BBB in VA & plan to lodge a complaint with the Virgina Attorney General under consumer fraud. Note I live in IL but LL headquarters is in VA

vinyl flooring

I just installed Tranquility vinyl 4mm flooring in March 2013. We used the silent floor underlayment with attached vapor barrier and sealed the joints with Typar tape. The sub floor is concrete. In April, it started cupping on the edges in two large areas. Contacted Lumber Liquidators and asked if they would send an inspector out to look at it. They told me it was a moisture problem and there was nothing they could do.
It is installed in a 15 year-old walk-in basement that has had carpet and vinyl on until we installed the new floor. It has always been dry and we pretty much live down there all year. I pulled up the trim to verify the proper gapping, it was good. I read them the instruction manual that said, "Is recommended for use in high humidity areas where the floor is usually wet. (bathrooms, steam rooms, saunas)" The flooring is very soft and you can push down on the joints with little pressure. The edges will compress 2-3mm. The center of the planks are firm. What is a consumer supposed to do if they install a product made for high humidity, but told there is a problem because you have high humidity? They are going to send info on how to control humidity and pretty much end the discussion.

I purchased this same product and I have other gapping issues. I am looking for 1-anyone that has bought the Tranquility product and/or 2-anyone that was able to get a refund to your original payment method rather than the store credit they try to force you to accept. Carriejmendez@yahoo.com

We bought some laminate from them 2 years ago. I have followed all of the recommendations for proper care and it looks like crap. Their customer service is worthless and automatically blames it on the customer. I would warn anyone considering using their product to run the other way.

Would like to find others to go togehter and sue the hell out of LL

Let's all get together and make LL give us back all the money we have spent on their flooring and the money to pay their installers to put in this sub flooring that isn't worth a shit. Lets find a lawyer and all work together and blow the doors off of this place for screwing over their customers as badly as they are doing. Do I have any other people out there that think this is a good idea as well?????? Someone needs to bring this to the front page of the newspapers about how badly Lumber Liquidators, Inc., are treating their customers and how much money they are making off these same customers as they do so. Anyone else interested??

LL believes that they sell the best and maybe they do bu in my experiance kif you put in laminate flooring DO NOT try to live on it!!!

If any moisture gets on the floor it soaks into the joints and swells the laminate at that point. I have these swells all over 800 sq ft and LL just as much as told me "too bad, your fault." When dealing with LL, BUYER BEWARE!!

I'm interested in getting into a class action suit against LL - if you are still wanting to please contact me at ltichy@live.com

I installed the bamboo flooring in my basement in May (weeks after it acclimated). The flooring was placed on top of a new subfloor (dri-core) and a recommended vapor barrier was used. Gapping/shrinkage slowly began to appear and continued. The floor shrunk 1 1/4+ inch over 25 feet. Unacceptable. The boards also began to cup. Now some of the boards are smaller than others which is preventing the boards locking together correctly. When I contacted LL, they sent me a letter that basically stated what gapping is, how it is caused and how to prevent. They further went to inidicate that if I wanted the flooring inspected it would be out of my pocket. Oh did I forget to mention that they discontinued the floor. Although now LL is stating that the "profile" is being changed. When I spoke to the asst manager of the store that sold the flooring, they indicated that their inhouse installers had same problems and that flooring was discontinued for this reason. I would suggest all those with problems to submitt a claim to the better business bureau. Its hard to believe that this company is rated high with them.
p.s. my review of their flooring was not posted on their website either.

Wow! LL is a great place to work and takes care of their employees. You gotta work and provide results or you are replaced that simple. The guy thAt got fired, just couldn't cut it. And laminate floor with toxic smell...c'mon your kidding right? Our products are best out there. Yes you will have some defects because this is a natural product that's why you factor in waste. Go to lowes or Home Depot and compare prices and quality and you will see LL is the top of the line.

I'll guarantee you the laminate flooring we bought 12 MM is not the best you can buy out there or it would never have done what ours did. They do not take care of their customers near as well as their employees. They sent out a guy to inspect our floor - he was here 10 minutes and when his report came back he had it all screwed up as to what was where and he even added something that wasn't even there. You can' live on this flooring.

Lumber Liquidators-Should be Put out of Business

I too would be interested in joining a class action suit. Lumber Liquidators is a disreputable company, and all they care about is the almighty dollar and cheating people out of their hard earned money. We purchased CH Coles Dream Home 8 mm laminate flooring as well as the best padding money can buy. The flooring is lifting at seams, in between boards, and is giving the appearance of a a wavy effect in some spots. Before I submitted any documentation they denied my claim, well I have filed complaints with the BBB, as well as the State of VA AG's consumer protection division. I am not going to allow these thieves to cheat me like this. They do not stand behind their product which is garbage..and we followed the installation instructions when it was installed, as well as cleaning and maintenance on the floor. There was never any mention of not using any household cleaners, in fact the salesman in the Orlando, FL store told us it was perfectly fine to use Murphy Oil Soap, and we used it very sparingly. They are hanging their hats on that factor and stating it is our fault., and all of a sudden the installation instructions, care and maintenance from the original enclosed instructions in the box which we still have. They should be sued for breach of contract, guaranty of warranty and merchantability, bad faith, and deceptive business practices. Is anyone interested because at this point I am going to take them to court. Thanks, please email me at kateolen48@yahoo.com if interested.
