Don’t act like employees aren't working hard

Job security is based on who kisses butt the most to their superiors, rather than whom the most fit is for that job. When I heard that there is a plan of 7000 furloughs, I got the dreaded feeling that my name is on the list. I have had scrap with my supervisor for some time and I am sure he is going to put me on list. Well! I am not worried about me as I was already thinking of quitting this job, what about the others who are making living out of this job. Management should at least think about it.

If you love the retail space (like I do) and want to start out at the right company (and realize that your degree is worth more than folding clothes), come work at Macys. It has a great training program and they have many opportunities. Yes, the pay starts generally better than other retail stores. The managers and associates working for Macy's are overall very dedicated, responsible and creative and everyone really has a sense of pride about the company, and it shows in the way they interact with others and the customers. We have opportunity to learn as much as we are capable of absorbing. I’d be repeating .. but it is a great company to work for if you want to work in retail.
