6th year of cuts at the Tempe site..an exercise in futility!!

Mass layoffs at Medtronic for the fifth year in a row today. MDT is defining the term insanity. Maybe they might try something different like replace the senior management who keep dragging the company down and letting go very good people year after year with no end in sight.

In addition MDT is now doing a quarterly pass/fail review for employees. This is to be used to speed up putting employees on PIP's with the ultimate goal of terminating them without having to pay any severance. The madness at MDT still continues.

Every time they build a building they lay people off to help pay for the new diggs which they did this past year. Incredible high tech, beautiful buildings. But there goes the job security and if you're not laid off, your pay raise. Your career goes no where if you don't have an MBA but the tuition reimbursement is nominal.

Backdoor layoff occurring at the Tempe facility. People being forced to quit and those who choose to fight get let go for performance issues. They are leaning up everything down to the socks and demanding more and more from fewer and fewer people. They are at a stage where more people are leaving than are staying. This site is setting things up to let a lot of people go and management is smiling all the way to it's demise.

Want to know how to keep a job at Medtronic? Come in a half hour or more late...take 2 hours for lunch...leave early EVERYDAY. Talk a good talk and be a bully but don't actually contribute anything - that's the person they don't lay off. Believe me I saw it happen.
