layoffs.. well motorola did this 2 months ago and let all the cream of people go away. They dont actually know who does the work and who sits and just takes fat paychecks. Horrible place to be in especially in IT.

Layoffs continue

about
Over 100 laid of in May 2012 with expectations of another in October and perhaps one in between. Rumors of a pending job grade shuffle and resulting pay cuts as well. As other posts point out the layoffs are from high - laying off contributors and leaving some slackers with no discrimination. The random nature contributes to the declining moral. Layoffs hitting contributors means those left behind have more on their plates. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

It was the worst professional experience of my life. I was tortured for years as the Senior Management "team" went on absolutely clueless in Holtsville NY to what was going on in the Organization. They let good people go again and again and kept deadbeat Directors who did nothing to grow the business or the employee. They are so top heavy that they're forced to lay off every year. Sooooo many Chief's (dumb ones) not enough Indians! When will Greg Brown wake up and see the mess these arrogant Directors are making of things?

Well Motorola does it again! They laid off good people right in front of the holidays! The people that run this company have zero class when it comes to it's greatest resources. Remeber the snake the rot's from the head down!

It is sadto see Motorola state. It used to pay good money. since 2001, due to bad management, things took a bad turn. I feel sorry for people who work for Motorola

It's really sad because Motorola used to be considered the best (back when walkie-talkies were hot, and cell phones were called bricks). There were two plants in the town I grew up in - Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and everybody wanted a job there; they paid decent money, and everyone knew they'd be there forever. I'm not sure what year it was (maybe 1998), as I moved out of state, but both plants are now closed.
