Worked there for over fifteen years. Pay is much lower than industry standard. There are FEW opportunities for advancement. You are just a cog in the machine. Turnover is incredible, especially in Merchandising. Favoritism and nepotism are rampant. There are different sets of rules for different people. Advancement used to be much more likely. In this job market though, take the job if you get an offer.

Harassed and Humiliated

about
I worked for the TJX company for almost 5 years. At first it was a good environment. Then they started changing the management staff and not for the better. I finally quit after being repeatedly harassed. You name it, if happened to me. I was sexually, verbally, physically and emotionally abused. I was also discriminated against. It has taken me almost 7 months to get over 2 years of abuse. The thing that I am still haunted by is I was written up for things without being asked my side.HR is not your friend.

Worst place ever!!

about
I hated working for TJ Maxx. It's the worst place I've ever worked at. They hire a lot of young people so there's a lot of immature people. And a lot of the employees like to kiss butt so they can get promoted. One time a manager was actually hitting my back with her fingers saying excuse me excuse me. And she did it right on my spine. She did this just because I wasn't putting all of the chips and popcorn on the display. There was hardly any room anyway. The coordinator's there are disprespectful. If you make a mistake they treat you like scum. My store manager makes me feel uncomfortable. He said odd things. I could just go on and on... I only worked there for three months and it was hell. The only positive thing I can say is that there were some people I did like and respect there.
