Building America is there logo it should read "destroying families", or "ruining Dreams". It cut throat and ruthless and they treat there employees bad and have very dangerous work conditions. I.C.T.F. Long Beach should be shut down and investigated. This company suks like there managers.

It's the only company I know of that is hiring for a position to monitor and mange what people are saying about it on the Internet. Yes, it's an actual management position. They actually have to pay someone to try to hide all the bad things people write about them.

I am a 7 year mountain engineer in Roseville, California. We are asked to run the largest tonnage trains over the heaviest grade in the country in UP's history! I figure I have successfully run over 800 trains over Donner pass and the Feather River canyon . But, I got through a main line switch leaving Sparks, Nv. The switch was left against me not lined for the main. The UP management fired me and has no regard for all the trains I successfully ran for them! I have been in the Army and worked for other Fortune 500 companies. I have never experienced such a heartless outfit as the UP!!!!!!!

I am an 8th year Engineer with Union Pacific. I work heavy grade territory . I run the largest tonnage trains over the heaviest grade in the worst weather in the United States!
I have been an Army Officer and an Airline Captain. I know what good leadership is and how good companies treat their employees!
The leadership of the Union Pacific does not care about their employees! They say they do, but in practice and reality they do not.
So, my advice to anyone who wants to work for this company is realize they will train you and fire you!

Does any one know any thing about working for Union Pacific in roseville california. What is the train crew training pay at this location.
ON there website they say you train for 14 weeks.
bnsf training pay is 800 a week
Norfolk Southern and Csx is 600 a week
Do they furlough alot there or is there work year round.
I need a response asap. I was invited to an interview session and dont want to travel across country to work 6 - 8 months and get furloughed.

furloughed...how long??????

hey all....i started with UP in march of 2008, had just gotten fully marked up on the extra board in October and was promptly "furloughed" in November....anyone have any idea on how long it will be till i get back???? I'm on the ct63 board out of Kansas City....#210 out of 300....so only 209 guys need to go back to work then me...heck, that should be right around next Thursday or Friday, right????? Good luck all...stay safe!!
