After reading many of these posts, I felt compelled to add my own experiences. I worked for Unisys 14 years and can say that I have never worked for such bad management in my career. I had prayed for a layoff after the contract I was tied to went away, but, it didn't happen. I ended up resigning and going to a place that is cleary superior.
The on-call requirements were so out of hand it was rediculous. You could easily work a 20 hour day and another call would simply drop in. I had a manager tell me that I simply could not go home and I needed to keep working!
Unisys typically would send untrained and uncleared techs to Government sites needing those requirements. The manager I had then stated that he wasn't going to send any one cleared since those techs made less per hour. Of course, Unisys still billed the same amount as if a certified and cleared tech was dispatched.
Unisys and its management border on dishonesty and unethical, but, they don't care! It's best I left.
