market is priced focused , VZW not the cheapest

about
churn may hit 1.5 unless 4th quarter comes in killer they are writing up front line customer care reps for disconnecting customers even when they ask to . North East area is the worst from the VP on down alot of shouting and senseless internal slogons while they quietly seek to protect their own 6 figure jobs and the expense of others.

Telecom?

about
Telecom is an awful industry in which to work. They lost control of pricing years ago--it's all cutthroat now, and the corporations act like it throughout their operations.

I should have taken the hint years ago, when an experienced supervisor at what was then PacBell said to me, after learning that I was working at another large telecom at the time, "Oh, they're an unethical company!" Sure enough . . .

When little birdies are talking to you, you should listen.

Company has the problems of any large corporation when the market expands or contracts. They handled layoffs pretty well but they closed a call center on the other side of the country, placed service reps all over the country as sales reps, and jacked up the numbers. Not only did folks get fired for metrics, they got fired after moving to another state. Lot of politics and gaming by executives. Namely Bobby Morrison. They did not however have you leave with confidence. some of the best reps got dusted thinking they were bad reps when they really just got tired of fighting for their jobs every day. The product mix is BS as of 2012, go apply in 2014 it might be better.

I know a man who was a retail sales consultant with Verizon who excelled meeting quota's receiving trips and recognition rewards yet he was fired. He was the one who talked me into changing to Verizon and he PR'd the company where ever he went and gathered a lot of customers which is one of vthec reasons he cexcelled in sales. They gave him no fore warning of what he was charged with and he as not allowed to defend himself. I spoke with almost all of his co-workerws who told me he was an excellant worker and did nothing wrong. They believe his firing was to shake them and one person in the main office used this to establish his power and authority and mamagement stood by and let it happen. I and all my family and friends who he led to Verizon have left them and will never use them again and we are spreading the work as far and wide as wec can to get others to go with us.

Many employees live in fear of being fired for missteps.

This company needs to do a review of their management. Pay does not seem to match importance of job function at certain levels.

Verizon wireless is a great company to work for. The pay is good and the benefits are excellent. We are treated by our superiors with respect and there is always a chance to advance in the company. My only complaint is that the hours can be demanding and it is sometimes hard to balance worklife and family.

I use to work for Verizon Wireless...and was recently laid off. I loved working there until recently. They hire from the outside which means the person does not know the vzw ways. I was challenged with trying to explain to my new boss on certain things and it was either his way or the highway..I was looking out for the company and what was in their best interest. I became mentally and verbally abused by my new boss which then turned into health issues. Leaving there crying on my way home, with chest pains and shaking during the day over god for bid I didn't know something. When I confronted my boss on how I felt, he dismissed and said he can't control how I feel. My whole team basically told him the same thing. With that said, I was then targeted even more. And mind you I was there for over 14 years and in my position for over 8 years. I then received a Letter of Concern, which was full of lies..then I went to my director to explain how I felt, and what can I do and how actually the whole team felt, I thought it went well. Till the next week, I was called into my directors office with my boss and was laid off. I couldn't believe my ears..What even gets me more mad is how they posted Lowell McAdam's salary and all he accomplished..which because of the mistakes and how they need to be so controlling, caused the huge layoff. Where the average Joe just needs to live..not live highly. My whole point is, they never care about the employee..they only care about the one over the employees.,.meaning the boss. HR there is a joke too..they are suppose to be there for you..they are not. And what makes it worse is I was always successful in my years there and well respected. Where they allowed this new person 3 months old to the company just walk all over valued employees. They are the worst company to work for. I laugh..they are suppose to be a company for the working mothers..NOT TRUE!..NOW they are scared with the competition..GOOD FOR THEM
