Head Hunting Chop chop
about
Even as I speak Werner has a head hunting party in the jungle. The Dollar General account is suffering financial troubles and the best Idea they have it to FIRE their most experienced drivers.
For the last few weeks a team of "Safety" inspectors ave been going from Dist. center to Dist. center looking for safety violations. Which in all aspects looks like a good thing, normally.
However when one looks at the results of the campaign/hunt it is readily apparent that they are only looking to trim the books.
After the "Safety" team concludes it's inspection, the ONLY violators seem to be long time (up to 15 year) drivers. Drivers that have reached or are near the top pay per mile.
OK so you say that "Old" drivers probably have bad habits that brand new younger drivers haven't acquired yet. Nope. New drivers to the account that have long carers with Werner are being cut left and right. 18 from 1 Distribution Center (DC) alone.
What this is is criminal to say the least. I'm sure that the "technique" will save the account tons of money but at what expense? To fire a driver because he makes too much under the guise of a safety violation IS criminal and this poster can smell a class action suite from my laptop.
I know this to be fact as my best friend is a manager at one of the DC's and COULD provide paperwork to prove this allegation if he/she had not been told to keep their mouth shut or risk being fired themselves. So I am telling this story of deceit and malfeasance so that the truth will be heard and maybe one of you know how to start the appropriate action to expose Werner for who they are.
And all in the time for the holidays, Merry Christmas!
